Exploring the Stars, Masonville 77th Cub Scouts, February 6th, 2014

Mostly cloudy skies greeted 17 visitors (13 children and 4 adults) from the Masonville 77th Cub Scouts at the Cronyn Observatory for Exploring the Stars, Thursday, February 6th, 2014, 7:00 p.m. Graduate student Shannon Hicks made the digital slide presentation “Constellations” and around 7:25 p.m. brought everybody upstairs into the dome.

Exploring the Stars, 1st Dorchester Sparks and Brownies, February 3rd, 2014

Graduate student Parshati Patel made the digital slide presentation “Brownies & Sparks Astronomy Badge” before 43 visitors (26 children and 17 adults) from the 1st Dorchester Sparks and Brownies at the Cronyn Observatory for Exploring the Stars, Monday, February 3rd, 2014, 6:15 p.m. She followed this with the activity “Constellation”, distributing 25 “Star Finder” plansipheres and showing the children how to assemble and use them.

Exploring the Stars, 2nd London Beavers, January 28th, 2014

Graduate student Tony Martinez made the digital slide presentation “Constellations” before 13 visitors from the 2nd London Beavers, including 7 Beavers, 2 small children and 4 adults, at the Cronyn Observatory for Exploring the Stars, Tuesday, January 28th, 2014, 6:30 p.m. This was followed by questions and then Tony immediately introduced the activity “Kitchen Comet”, making a comet from dry ice and other ingredients on a table at the front of the lecture room.
