Astronomy Day, Masonville Mall, May 5th, 2012

RASC London Centre held its 2012 Astronomy Day on Saturday, May 5th, beginning 10:00 a.m., in Masonville Mall. London Centre President Rick Saunders, who organized the event, set up his 8-inch (20.3cm) AstroTech F/4 Astrograph. Charlie Barbara set up his extensive meteorite collection. 

Other members who showed up throughout the day included Jeff Harrison, with his 102mm Sky-Watcher Maksutov; Dan Tremblay, with his 80mm refractor; Roman Dubinski, with his large 25x100mm tripod mounted binoculars; Peter Jedicke, Mike Roffey and Bob Duff. In all, 8 London Centre members took part in the event. In all, there were 8 RASC London Centre members who participated.

Rick estimated that some 200 people stopped at the display throughout the day, which was set up on a table in one of the atriums of the mall. Everybody packed and left by around 4:25 p.m. after a busy day of talking to visitors and handing out London Centre brochures to some.
