Exploring the Stars, 57th London Brownies, November 14th, 2012

Clear, hazy skies greeted 22 visitors (11 children and 11 adults) from the 57th London Brownies to the Cronyn Observatory, for Exploring the Stars, Wednesday, November 14th, 7:00 p.m. Since they arrived early, graduate student Allison Hill involved them with a drawing the solar system with crayons activity around 6:45 p.m. She followed this with the digital slide presentation, “Brownies Exploring Space.”

Cronyn Observatory Open House, Saturday, November 10th, 2012

Mostly cloudy skies greeted visitors to the Cronyn Observatory on Saturday, November 10th, around 7:30 p.m. However, there was some clearing later in the evening. Undergraduate student Neil Bhatt began his digital slide presentation, “Stars: An overview,” before 6 visitors, including children, around 8:00 p.m. There were possibly 36 visitors by the end of the evening (although this may be an overestimate). RASC London Centre members Peter Jedicke and Bob Duff listened to Neil’s interesting presentation.

Exploring the Stars, Centennial Central Public School, November 8th, 2012

Clear skies greeted 37 visitors (including 20 children and 17 adults) from Centennial Central Public School Grade-6 class to the Cronyn Observatory for Exploring the Stars, Thursday, November 8th, 7:00 p.m. Graduate student Allison Hill made the digital slide presentation, “Alien Life in the Universe.”
