Eight London Centre members turned out for the clear skies at the Michell Hepburn Public School Star Party in St. Thomas. They were: Harold Tutt, Matt Neima, Gaetan Godin, Phil Marusiak, Mike Roffey, Kelly Manson, Everett Clark, and Dave McCarter. Several parents also brought their telescopes to the show, which started with several white light filtered telescopes showing sunspots.
Clear skies greeted visitors to the Cronyn Observatory Open House, Saturday, May 19th, 8:30 p.m. Graduate student Neven Vulic made the digital slide presentation, “Exoplanets,” while faculty member Dr. Jan Cami operated the big 25.4cm refractor in the dome, assisted by graduate student Hoda Rashedi.
On Thursday evening, May 19th, RASC London Centre member Dave McCarter traveled to Camp Sylvan to present his digital slide presentation "Constellations” to 26 Grade-6 children and 8 adults from a Sarnia school.
RASC London Centre member Dave McCarter spent the day from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at John Dearness Public School doing solar observing and talking to students about our dependency on the Sun.
There were 6 RASC London Centre members who assisted with the Cherry Hill Village Mall Astronomy Display, Saturday, May 12th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including Rick Saunders, Dave McCarter, Peter Jedicke, Harold Tutt, Phil Marusaik and Charlie Barbara, with his meteorite collection. The display was set up in cooperation with and just outside McKittrick’s Photo / Digital / Astro store.
