Feb. 18, 2012 – Star Night at Camp Sylvan

Star Night, for the 2nd Ailsa Craig Brownies and 1st Ailsa Craig Sparks at Camp Sylvan. The forecast was for clearing but the clouds never parted and nothing was visible except small light domes from nearby towns. There were 17 children from the 2nd Ailsa Craig Brownies and 1st Ailsa Craig Sparks along with 4 leaders and one parent. Dave McCarter sat with them around the campfire and told stories about astronomy until it was time for a snack and bed. Dave suggested that we could visit them on a meeting night in April or May when the Moon is at first quarter and Saturn is rising early.
