Nature London Star Party?

Post by Ryan » October 1st, 2018, 7:46 pm

Hi Folks;

I received a call tonight from Cathy McRae, who coordinates Nature London club outings. I am doing a talk for them on February 5th on Astronomy and Astrophotography.

Cathy would like to arrange a star-party outreach session for their club members. We talked the possibility of doing it at either Fingal or Cedercroft, a nature London Property just outside of Delaware.
They are thinking that March might be a good time to do this - maybe the week of March 11th?

Is the club open to teaming with them on this? I think it would be a terrific idea. Lots of potential new membership interest here for RASC.

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan:

they will have to decide what they want.

Fingal is darker, has better telescopes, but is further away.

If it's going to be at Delaware you can keep posting on here (the public side of the forums), and make it a club event.

It it's going to be at Fingal, I would prefer to keep it off the public side of the forums.

For those events, Pete or I take care of these things privately (via email) with whoever is in charge of the group as we don't want to turn their private event into a public star night. This isn't the right place for the necessary back-and-forth about the dates, weather etc.

PM me if they want Fingal.
