Seaforth Public School

Post by DaveMcCarter » January 24th, 2018, 12:02 pm

On Monday last I drove in rain to the little town of Seaforth and their Public School to speak to the Grade five, six and seven students of teacher Anne McBride. Her second floor room (think two long flight staircase) was full of kids and a second teacher. While the room didn't have curtains the windows faced north and the dark dreary indoor recess kind of day ment the room was suitably dark for my digital show "The Sun". Fortunately the students were well behaved, even when one annimated GIF of the sun's rotation crashed my little laptop. It used to work well but the latest Windows 10 update has really put the tacky guck into the computer's gears. After a quick restart and skipping the rest of the GIFs the rest of the show went smoothly, with lots of questions from the students, most darn good questions.

I didn't get an accurate student count, but would hazard a guess at 35 in total.

Apparently the school has prepared a donation to the Centre, and I'll deposit in into the club's account when it arrives.

I sure wish I would be able to give you a hand as in the past especialy for all you did for the club. Just not able to get around the way I used to. Keep up the good work as I know how much you enjoy it.

Sounds like a great presentation. Any PPT presentation has it's "risks".

Thanks for representing the club.
