November 21, 2025 – Monthly Meeting – Members Night

We’ve got a few things going on this month that directly impact YOU, as a member of RASC London Centre.

Most importantly, it’s our annual general meeting. That means that we have some reports to share on our club’s goings-on, but perhaps most importantly it’s time for our annual elections. Yup, November means that it’s time to elect your executive committee!  As mentioned at our last meeting, we have some open positions on our executive, as well as positions that have a single member standing for their position once again. Your executive is elected once a year for a one-year term. If you’d like to stand for one of the positions on our executive board, this is your last chance until next year.

Moving forward, this will once again be a member’s night: this means that we’re relying on you all to speak up and share. Have you got a new piece of gear you’d like to discuss? An image you’ve taken that you think we’d like to hear about? Questions about how to best observe or what kind of equipment you might need to move forward in the hobby?  Have a cool video you think we should see?  Bring it!  Dale will give us an extended version of his “What’s Up in the Sky” presentations, which are always excellent, Tyrone will give us a constellation of the month talk, Peter will share with us his experience at Windsor Centre’s recent 80th anniversary gala, and we’ll have a presentation from one of our newest and youngest members- Siddharth Patel- who will be briefing us about his asteroid discovery program. Anything beyond that is up to you- the members!

And we’re all noticing the shorter days (err, I mean longer nights to observe!) and that makes us thoughtful of the calendar… I bet you know where this is going…. Katelyn has taken on the responsibility to order a batch of the fantastic 2026 Observer’s Calendar. It’s $25 plus shipping for the public, but if you speak up and bring your payment to the meeting you can get one for only $20!  That’s another benefit of being an active member.

Our meeting will begin at 7:30pm. You can attend in person at the Cronyn Observatory on the Western campus, or join us via Zoom at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89015777788

Meeting ID: 890 1577 7788 with no password.
