Mike Flegel has been a Life Member of RASC London Centre since the 1970s, and was part of our team when we hosted the 1979 General Assembly. He did his undergrad at Western U in mathematics and astronomy, and spent his career working with computer technology, as an operator, a systems manager and cybersecurity analyst. Now he lives in Windsor, but has resisted the Windsor Centre’s effort to recruit him, and he remains loyal to London Centre. Mike is also asteroid (14065) Flegel. His briefing at our regular meeting on July 17 is titled “Computus Paschalis and the Search for Astronomy” in which he will take a look at how astronomy has been used (or improperly used) to compute important dates in the calendar.

Friday’s meeting will begin at 7:30pm. You can attend in person at the Cronyn Observatory on the Western campus, or join us via Zoom at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89015777788
Meeting ID: 890 1577 7788 (no password).
Remember, with the construction around the Cronyn the best bets for parking are the Upper Heating lot, South Valley lot, or across Western Rd at Springett.
