Star Night, Killarney Provincial Park, July 11th, 2012

Bill Gardner made his annual presentation at Killarney Provincial Park on Wednesday evening, July 11th. The skies could not have been better and park staff brought interested guests to the observing field around 10:00 p.m. Bill gave them a combined slide presentation and live constellation tour.

Once this was done, the observatory was ready to provide views of Saturn and M57 to visitors through the 10-inch (25.4cm) Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, while Bill elaborated on other constellations and stories of the night sky. Attendance was just shy of 100 people and RASC Star Finder plansipheres were made available to anyone wanting one.
